About the Role: 

Young people can face many issues which may lead to them becoming disengaged from education, employment, family, and community. Our youth programs offer individual support, counselling, education, and practical assistance to help young people re-establish relationships and break out of destructive cycles of living.

Anglicare have an exciting opportunity for a Project Worker in our Youth Services team. As a Project Worker you will support our Project Coordinator in delivering workshops and short-term individual support to young people in Southwest Sydney to increase their motivation; readiness for work and ability engage with their local community. 

This is a Casual role based in Liverpool.

Key Responsibilities (not limited to):

  • Ensures effective service delivery to clients to support best outcomes by advocating, establishing strong network links with local services to promote referral pathways and developing strong partnerships with stakeholders. Utilise various solution-focused tools to assist in engaging a young person in education, employment, and community. Deliver group work and workshops and develop and participate in community capacity-building activities with local schools and other services
  • Ensure that funding body program requirements are implemented in all program practice areas by adhering to guidelines, specifications, benchmarks and organisational policies and procedures
  • Ensure the service is prominent within the community by participating in local network meetings and other promotional events.
  • Ensure that group work and workshops for clients and their families meet client needs through ongoing review and evaluation
  • Ensure the needs of individual clients are met by providing a case plan that is developed with the client, is clearly defined and has achievable outcomes, and is reviewed and updated regularly. Meeting client needs includes providing information about other relevant community services
  • Ensure a full client caseload is maintained by working within funding guidelines and program targets directed by the Manager

About you:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications, e.g., Social Work degree, Counselling, Psychology
  • Case worker or counselling experience with a strong focus on young people
  • Previous experience in networking with other organisations to achieve positive client outcomes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Computer skills
  • Previous experience in delivering group programs
  • Current Unrestricted Drivers Licence – travel between sites/ locations will be required
  • Covid19 Vaccination highly recommended
